ux mechanism

the "ARSEON"; responsive navigation (2013)

The best way to package a concept and establish it as significant, I've found, is to name it. So when I described the "ARSEON" in a wireframe for the LeaseStar Product I designed in 2013, it was the best argument I could have made for the power of names. Short for "Abbreviated Right-Side Expandable Overlay Nav," the ARSEON, as I'd hoped, was greedily embraced by every member of my extended team in both name and concept. And, as I'd hoped, this sped its implementation when we had zero time to spare. This particular "UX Mechanism" was my solution to a UX challenge that cropped up unexpectedly and serves as an excellent example of the kinds of problems UX professionals solve.
