A frequent challenge in Product Design is the stakeholder without a day's training or experience in UX Design who nevertheless harbors strong opinions on the subject. In this case, the Product Manager was vehement in his insistence that a nav button leading to core functionality should not appear in the primary navigation where I had placed it, but in a tertiary area off to the side. I told him this would certainly impact usability but he insisted the effect would be negligible. This wasn't worth organizing live subjects so I turned to my favorite online User-testing solution. The results ended up being a terrific illustration of the fact that UX is not subjective. Here is the presentation I gave afterwards.
